The Scapperò T9 Bicycle Frame All of our bicycle frames are principally built from metals for three great reasons: delivering a highly personalized bicycle requires a wide range of control over size and geometry configurations; we require a wide and consistent palette of tube weight and stiffness options; and, of special importance for bicycles that are ridden where damage is more likely to occur, it's best revealed before it becomes catastrophic. Carbon manufacturing is generally less consistent and all but extreme damage can remain hidden until disaster strikes.
If you could combine the best qualities of steel, aluminum and carbon fiber while weeding out the drawbacks of the same materials, you would have something remarkably similar to titanium. Hands down, it's the metal with the mettle best suited to soothe and survive the less genteel conditions that you have in mind on your Scappero. Not only is it the toughest of all bicycle materials and completely inert (zero corrosion from anything), it's also inherently strong, light and lively.
To say the Scapperò T9 is a titanium frame, risks a great injustice considering what's going on within every frame. Setting a new high mark in titanium engineering, our titanium begins a series of performance enhancements in a condition that most bike builders consider finished. With each process, internal and external, no shortcuts to lower cost or accommodate limited technologies are ever taken. But what counts most is you can feel it when you ride- responsive, smooth, confidence inspiring.
The Serotta SF9 Disc-brake Carbon Fork Not to be under-considered, the front fork should by no means be considered a commodity component of your bicycle. Think of it as the tip of the spear that is you and your bicycle. It is the first point of connection to the road and usually too, the first point of any impact. How it handles with front loading, side loading, the offset forces of applying disc brakes at high and low speeds while riding straight and while cornering are a few of the behaviors we consider. Then we consider how the fork's flexing interacts with the movement of the frame and your wheels under all these conditions...it's complicated. And its why long ago I concluded that generic forks were not an option- for handling and safety, we have developed our own forks. We utilize the most experienced manufacturers and third-party test labs, like Germany's EFBE, where our road forks are tested to exceed both road and MTB standards.
All Serotta bicycle specifications are personalized to each cyclist at the time of ordering. Gearing, crank length, handlebar and stem sizing along with final tire size will be determined during our review of your fit & personal preference documentation. Please note, pedals and saddles are not included in your initial quotation due to the wide range of personal preference. We are happy to add your favorite selections to the bike order, or you can provide them on your own.
